Since I’ve started going to the gym three days a week, I’ve noticed I’m the frumpiest dressed one there. Most of the women are wearing cute exercise pants and matching tops ~ which not only shows off their toned bodies but looks so comfortable. They don’t look like they’re on the prowl ~ they just look good.
I, on the other hand, am still wearing my gym style from the 80’s. No, not the same clothes, just the same style ~ long t-shirt, shorts, tube socks. And if you think I’m being too hard on myself, at a party the other night, my gym partner commented that I should get an Ipod. Since FM knows about my gym style, he chimed in with “You don’t need an Ipod, you need a Walkman to go with your outfit.” 🙂
Maybe I should wait for legwarmers to make a comeback?
Hey Patti, I tagged you for a meme, so when you’re done working out, go see!

Guess what folks. it’s not called old,it’s called “vintage” and that’s more expensive than new clothes.

Christy: You’re so sweet to offer but I’d rather you give your clothes to charity. My big problem is I’m a terrible shopper and that’s why I don’t have the newest styles ~ I’m trying to get better and will shop on-line. I’ll check the links on Did You Run Today?.

Dang! I just gave quite a few of my “old” gym clothes to charity. I could have sent them to you! If I clean the closet again before we move, expect a package in the mail! On the plus side, at least you are at the gym!

Thanks Kay for the Discman offer ~ FG’s got one, too. I think we’ll breakdown and buy an IPOD (much to FG’s delight 😉 I just read in the Wall Street Journal that CD’s are becoming extinct and it will also be the death of the album. I better learn how to download songs…

I recently looked into getting the Under Armor brand for my outdoor exercise. Yikes! It was $50 for the pants and another $50 for the matching shirt.

I found a Discman going through “stuff”. Do you want it?
My German-style running gear is sometimes a little much for my fellow runners around….

Hey, maybe someone should contact the “What Not To Wear” show and turn me in. I could use the $5,000 clothes makeover 🙂 I’d gladly throw out all my current clothes!

As I am reading your blog I am dressed in cotton navy blue sweat pants, and a not-matching yellow shirt. – which by the way is long. Although I am not wearing tube socks – I have pink socks on which do not match my shirt.
R got an upgraded IPOD this Christmas and I was lucky enough to inherit his old one.
I think this is a mom thing – hand-me-downs and frumpy style -just remember that there is power in numbers – moms RULE the world, its a vital role we play and its not a fashion show! 🙂
You are great Patti – make sure you ask FM for that walkman for Valentines Day! 🙂

Sounds like my gym style, too! Sad… I do shop but almost never for myself. I’ve had the same workout clothes for 5 or 6 years. The kids have iPods, I’ve got nothing!
