Today is my one year anniversary of blogging. Having this blog has made it so much easier for me to keep in touch with family and friends. Makes me wish I’d gotten started sooner ~ but that’s where “Flashback Fridays” comes into play. I don’t miss trying to send long e-mails and large photo files. All they have to do is read it here first.
And it’s always a pleasant surprise when a stranger stops by and likes something I’ve written.
But my favorite part of having a blog is FM,FG and I will have something to look back on to remind us of our good times together. With all our traveling, it’s hard to remember some of the details.
Here are my stats for the year:
- 14,883 visitors
- 226 posts
- 5,735 dreaded spam. Thankfully, Akismet filters most of those out.
Thanks to everyone who visits and feel free to leave a comment anytime. I love hearing from others.

Thanks everyone! The address for my blog will stay the same but I’ll be changing the title once we land in Los Angeles and start our cross-country trip via the southern route 🙂 I’m leaving the title “Life on an Island Paradise” for a little longer because we’re hoping to visit several islands on our way back to the states. Still waiting to hear if it’s a go for island hopping.
Alice: Thanks for the book recommendation ~ I need a good, light read for the plane. Nothing heavy. I’m going to look for it in the bookstore here but if not I’ll see if I can find it on our layover in Hawaii.

Love the blog.
Off topic… I am reading the funniest book it is “What The Dog Did, Tales From a Formerly Reluctant Dog Owner”, by Emily Yoffe. It’s lol funny and a I thought it would be a good read for you on your long journey to your new home. It’s a must read for any dog lover.

I check your blog every day, too. It’s a mini-vacation for me–the photos could inspire great jealousy at times, but I’m just happy you’re having a great time and sharing your experiences with us. Thanks for the info on organic food in Guam, and good luck with your move. I look forward to reading about your new home.

Happy Anniversary! Beachbums has certainly brought me closer to home. You did Guam justice, and I’m looking forward to your next blog.
