Feels Like Coming Home

Having spent the first 10 years of my life in Hawaii, and having visited family & friends there over all these many years, I always feel like I’m coming “home” when the plane lands in Hawaii.

I love the sights, sounds and,of course, the ocean. Maybe feeling so comfortable is the reason I feel so at home.

We got to spend four wonderful days in Oahu. If we’d had a few more days, I would have taken FM and FG to the Big Island (Hawaii) to see my mom’s side of the family and all my old haunts. We’ll have to save it for next time though…

Flashback Friday: My Favorite Beaches

Having grown up in Hawaii and then moving to Puerto Rico, I’m ‘umbilically connected’ to the beach. I’ve been fortunate to have been to more than a few lovely, tropical beaches and it’s hard to pick favorites but here are the ones I think of whenever I see those “top ten” lists of favorite beaches:
1) Hapuna Beach, Big Island, Hawaii
2) Polihua Beach, Lanai, Hawaii
3) Savannah Bay Beach, Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands
4) Haputo Beach, Guam

There is one beach that I would actually like to live: Puako Beach on the Big Island. Since the average price of a home there is a million dollars, I’ll have to win the lottery before that will happen though 🙂
