Spring in DC is a wonderful time of year. The blooming cherry blossoms, dogwoods, azaleas are all gorgeous and I’m looking forward to a warm fun summer. Living in a old well-established neighborhood has its advantages when landscaping. For us, it’s more a matter of cutting back, rather than adding plants. Here’s the backyard:

We’ve settled nicely into our “new ” old home. So much to do with the house but we’re taking our time and doing one project at a time. After a year and a couple of months, I’m finally having an estate sale on Saturday for my mom’s furniture and household goods. My sister, Jo, came into town to help out and we’ve been working diligently emptying boxes but pause frequently when a memory is triggered. We’ll keep the items which make us smile and reminds us of many good times with both my mom and dad.
Update: Estate sale went well except none of the furniture sold. Time to get reacquainted with Craigslist.
I’m so jealous of your beautiful yard. We’re heading to Utah to do the spring yard work, and not only is the weather cold, wet and miserable (and predicted to stay that way for days!) but there is still way too much snow in and around the mountains. Would love to see azaleas and dogwoods. Enjoy.

It was so wonderful to have you here. Makes me wish we lived closer to each other so our visits wouldn’t be once or twice a year. Next time, we will surely go to the Botanic Garden. Start planning the next visit 🙂

I had a wonderful time during my long overdue visit!. Even though it was for the Estate Sale (sad) I was thrilled to finally visit you all. You are both great hosts and hostesses 🙂 Loved the house & places we did get to see. Wish I could have spent more time with Logan, but she seemed pretty preoccupied with her school & exciting trip. I don’t blame her, sounded like fun! Maybe next time…… Must bring Kyrstyn with on next trip, I think she would enjoy it as well. Thanks again for having me.
