This year, I had a couple different ideas for FG’s birthday party but I couldn’t resisit having the party at a local waterpark called Tarza, since in the past, we always had to do indoor events. FM and FG have gone there several times but this was my first visit. It was a lot of fun. My favorite slide was the master blaster:
You sit in an inner tube and the water pushes you up to the other slides ~ sorta like a “inner tube lift.” I laughed so hard I thought the water might go up my nose 😉
A good time was had by all and this might have to be the birthday tradition while we’re here.
Hi Deanna:
That’s the joy of Tarza, it’ll be memorable no matter what you do. Built in fun and excitement. Here’s a few things we did:
* we met everyone at the entrance, handed them their wristbands and directed them through the “group” gate and security check.
* we provided lunch for everyone since swimming makes people sooo hungry.
* we had a shelter reserved for lunch, cake and resting. Wasn’t used much since everyone, kids and adults alike were swimming.
* we made sure all the kids had a buddy and no one went off alone.
* we delivered goody-bags to guests homes AFTER the party so they wouldn’t get wet and have to carry them. A few people continued to play at Tarza after the party since the tickets were good for the entire day.
* the staff at Tarza couldn’t have been nicer. They helped make the day special by being so nice to all the kids.
Darn, I really miss Guam!!!!!
Hope your daughter has a FABULOUS party!!

Hafa Adai! I found your blog while doing a search for Tarza. We’re having my daugher’s birthday party there on Saturday. We’re expecting a few other families to come, and I’m struggling to come up with something to make the experience memorable. Kind of a what works, and what doesn’t for having the party at a water park. Do you have any tips?

You do realize the reason you don’t have any comments here is because the rest of us are envious of you being in the warm tropical weather as we are all enduring real “winter” weather? I love those water rides, the walk to the top wears me out in a good way!
